My Journey to Hypnotherapy

Balancing a full-time job and parenting was both incredibly rewarding and immensely challenging. However, it wasn’t until my daughter became more independent that I realized I had slipped into a rut and wasn’t living up to my full potential. As a sense of restlessness grew, I started thinking about how I could change things.

Coming from a creative background, I thought a new career in art would be the next natural step, but something didn’t feel right. Truthfully, I felt lost and kept postponing any decisions, telling myself I’d figure it out once my daughter could catch the bus, turn 16, learn to drive, go off to university, and so on.


After 22 years in the same job, I was made redundant, leaving me no choice but to reassess my future - quite literally starting from scratch. But even then, I struggled to find the inspiration I needed to move forward.


And that's how I found hypnotherapy. It helped me tap into my own intellectual resorurces and discover the solution to my own dilemma.

My Approach

I'm a Solution Focused Hypnotherapist and I genuinely love what I do. There is nothing I find more rewarding than seeing someone realise they're capable of so much more than they believed when they first walked through my door.

My approach is warm, relaxed and encouraging. We won't spend hours picking over the past; instead we'll focus on where you want to be and the steps to help you get there. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, stress, panic attacks, low confidence, spoor sleep, exam stress, or simply feeling stuck, I'll help you. to understand how your brain works, and support you in making lasting changes.

I also work with people who want to improve their relationship with food or manage their weight in a healthier, more positive way. Together we'll focus on building new habits and creating lasting, positive change, rather than relying on will power alone.

I believe therapy doesn't need to be daunting. It can be interesting, empowering and there can even be some laughter along the way. My aim is the create a space where you feel comfortable, supported and hopeful about the future.

Debunking Common Myths About Hypnosis

Myth: Hypnosis is mystical or magical

Hypnosis is not magical; it’s simply a state of deep relaxation and focused attention, where people are more open to suggestions. It relies on normal psychological processes, with nothing mysterious involved.

Myth: Hypnotherapists have special powers

Hypnotherapists don’t have special powers. They’re trained to use techniques that help with issues like anxiety, phobias, and habits. They guide you through the process, explaining each step so it’s clear and logical.

Myth: You might be forced to do things against your will

In hypnosis, you remain in control and aware. Hypnotherapists suggest ways to address your concerns, but you won’t do anything you don’t agree to. Each session is planned together, ensuring you feel comfortable.

Myth: Hypnosis means being asleep

Though you may have your eyes closed, hypnosis is not sleep. It’s like being engrossed in a book or movie - fully awake but deeply focused. You’re aware of your surroundings and can respond if needed.

Myth: You could get stuck in hypnosis

It’s impossible to get stuck in hypnosis. After each session, you’re guided back to full alertness, but even if not, you would naturally regain awareness on your own.

Myth: Hypnosis won’t work on me

Most people can be hypnotised, as it’s a skill that can improve over time. However, hypnosis is always voluntary. If you don’t want to be hypnotized, you won’t be.

15 minute Introduction phone call: Free of Charge

Initial consultation: £50 (60-90 mins, includes a free download)

Subsequent sessions: £65 (50-60 mins)

Smoking cessation: £180 (90-120 mins)


Cancellation Policy


If you are unable to attend your scheduled appointment, please provide at least 24 hours' notice. I understand that unexpected situations can arise, and I will do my best to accommodate you. However, if less than 24 hours' notice is given, I reserve the right to charge for the missed appointment. In the case of no-shows, the full session fee will be charged.
